#27 – buy myself something nice from tiffany’s

when i turned 21, i bought myself a diamond ring from tiffany’s. no particular reason – and no matter that it was the world’s smallest diamond – i just felt like i deserved it, and because i could afford to, i did. i wear it every day and i’ve pretty much never taken it off.

for the next few years, whenever an occasion came up, my father or my aunty jo would give me gift coins from tiffany’s. it’s been years (and they stopped giving them, probably cause i wasn’t using them!) and i ended up with $250 to spend. so i put it on my 30 before 30 list and yesterday sheryl and i headed to ala moana to find something perfect.

after a less-than-perfect encounter with the first snotty salesperson, sheryl talked me out of walking out of the store and we kept looking. eventually i found a beautiful and classic pair of pearl earrings. i had really wanted something timeless and pretty, and these were just perfect in my eyes. i asked about the price, and when the salesman told us $250, i knew it was meant to be. you can see the ones i got here.
